The Wild Pear is a small tree of pyramidal form that is well suited to medium sized gardens and outdoor spaces. Leaves are small and oval in shape with a downy under-surface. The vibrant white flowers that appear in April and May span an inch in diameter and are arranged in clusters. Flowers produced attract bees and other polinators to fertilise the tree in order to produce green pear fruits that ripen and turn brown during the autumn months. The Pear is a long lived tree, growing singly or in small groups on dry plains.
