Origin Europe, Asia. A Bright tree with irregular, usually curved trunk, 20-25 m high at full maturity. Open, loose crown. Leaves appear in April and hold on well into the early winter. The upper side of the leaf is dark green, with white felt-like hair underneath. Resistant to sea ​​breeze, grows in drier soils, but better on moist, open, loamy and acidic soils.
